iZZinet Sdn Bhd (formerly known as MoBif Wireless Broadband Sdn Bhd) was incorporated in Malaysia on 8 May 2006 as a private limited company to introduce and provide a new alternative mobile wireless broadband service to the Malaysia public, employing the "iBurst" technology which has been proven successful in other countries, among them are, Australia, South Africa, USA, Canada, Norway and Lebanon since early 2004.
On 29 May 2006, iZZinet has entered into a collaborative and exclusive distributorship agreement with Kyocera to be the exclusive licensee of the "iBurst" technology for deployment in Malaysia. On 28 March 2007 the Company has obtained full licenses as Network Service Provider (NSP) and Network Facility Provider (NFP) for the deployment of the "iBurst" wireless broadband service in Malaysia from Minister and MCMC and has also granted permission to use specific Spectrum frequency for mobile wireless broadband internet services.
The Company's vision is to be the first local player to provide mobile wireless broadband service using the "iBurst" technology to the South East Asia countries covering Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.
The availability of fixed infrastructure especially in the rural areas as well as the uncertainties in other wireless option have over the years dwarfed the ability for Malaysia to further increase its internet penetration rate and to transform Malaysia into a fully internet-enabled country.
